The German firearms manufacturer Heckler & Koch (HK) unveiled its next-generation assault rifle, the HK433 which will compete for the Bundeswehr’s G36 replacement program.
According to the manufacturer, the HK433 has indirect gas-operated with a short-stroke gas piston system. The side-folder stock has both adjustable cheek piece and collapsible length. The rifle’s upper receiver and handguard are made of strengthened aluminum.
In the 6 o’clock position, the HK433 has a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail. The upper-receiver of the HK433 has a rail built to NATO’s STANAG 4694 standards, with an additional picatinny rail at 6 o’clock. The HK433 is compatible with a wide set of commercially available accessories.
Numerous barrel sizes will be available for the HK433: 11”, 12.5”, 14.5”, 16.5”, 18.9” and 20”.
The HK433 comes in 5.56×45 mm caliber like its predecessors, but the rifle can be re-chambered to 7.62×51 mm battle rifle or 7.62×39 mm assault rifle. A .300 BLK variant will also be offered.
The HK 433 resembles the FN SCAR, ACR, Beretta ARX100 and the CZ 805/806 with its forward charging handle and monolithic upper with continuous top rail.
