Ukraine and Pakistan have signed a $600 million contract to maintain and modernize Pakistan’s tanks. The work will be carried out by the Ukrainian enterprises.
The tanks at stake are almost certainly the 320 T-80UD operated by the Pakistani Armed Forces, as Ukraine develops the engine and transmission components for the 6TD engines used by the T-80UD.
During the meeting, the Ukrainian defense minister and the Pakistani deputy Chief of the General Staff also considered possible joint tank and anti-tank missile systems production.
The contract was signed on the sidelines of the IDEAS-2016, defense exhibition in Karachi.
