Lockheed Martin to upgrade Moroccan F-16

Lockheed Martin has been awarded a $16 million contract to upgrade the Royal Moroccan Air Force’s F-16 fleet jets under the US foreign military sales program.

Work will be performed at Lockheed Martin’s Fort Worth, Texas, facilities and is expected to be complete by June 2019. The US Department of Defense did not mention what will be upgraded exactly.

The Royal Moroccan Air Force operates eighteen F-16C Block 50s and six two-seat F-16D Block 52s as of 2008.

Recently, Morocco received M109A5 and M119 howitzers from the US.
