Philippine to get additional upgraded M113A2 armored personnel carriers

Philippine is interested in acquiring additional M113A2 armored personnel carriers (APCs) according to Tuesday’s statement by the Defense Secretary of Philippines, Delfin Lorenzana.

Lorenzana added that after close inspection of the M113A2 APC, his country will concentrate on the allocation of additional budget for the upcoming purchases.

In March 2015, the Philippine Army had take delivery of 28 upgraded M113A2 destined for the Mechanized Infantry Division , including 10 fire support vehicles with 76mm turret, 10 equipped with remote control weapons system, and another 4 units of armored recovery vehicles.

Elbit Systems of Israel has upgraded 28 M-113A2 granted by the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency to Philippine.

Over 240 M113 APCs are in service with the Philippine Army.
