Syrian Army says it downed an Israeli drone and a jet, Israel denies

Armenia developing suicide, armed drones
The Syrian Army claimed its air defenses shot down an Israeli jet and a drone in  southern Quneitra countryside, near the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights. This came as the Israeli Air Force (IAF) has been striking Syrian Army positions in the area.

“Our air defenses blocked the attack and shot down the military aircraft and a drone in Quneitra” a statement from the Syrian Ministry of Defense said.

The Israeli military denied that any of its military planes were shot down by Syria, but it did admit that the IAF was targeted by two Syrian missiles.

Two surface -to-air missiles were launched from Syria after a mission overnight to hit Syrian artillery positions. At no point was the safety of IDF aircraft compromised,” the Israeli military said.

In the beginning of this month, it was reported that Lebanese Hezbollah and the Syrian Army were planning for an offensive near the Golan Heights.
