Lithuanian PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzers saw action for the first time as part of the Flaming Thunder 2016 tactical military exercises on Tuesday. The drills will be ongoing from August 1 through 12.

In September 2015, Lithuania had ordered 21 PzH 2000 SPH from the German Army stocks to replace the Danish 105 mm towed howitzers which were in service with the country’s armed forces.

The sophisticated 155mm howitzers are operated by the Lithuanian Army’s General Romualdas Giedraitis Artillery Battalion.
