Armenia to produce and export thermal cameras and night vision devices

During the meeting of the Armenian Government on July 14, Unicom Engineering was granted access to Armenia’s free economic zone to launch production of night vision equipment and thermal imaging cameras for military use. The total investment will amount $31 million.

Although the Armenian Armed Forces are thought to be the main customer of the devices, according to the Minister of Economy of Armenia 1000 units are planned to be exported in the first year of production, reaching 5500 units in the following year with a total value of $12 million.

Russia will be the main recipient of Armenian night vision equipment and thermal imaging cameras.
