Armenian T-72 tanks to be upgraded to T-72B3 locally

The Chinese air force has officially introduced the Xian Y-20 strategic transport aircraft into service during a ceremony in Chengdu, according to the Chinese Ministry of Defense.

The four-engined jet relies on Russian Soloviev D-30 Turbofan engines and can carry up to 73 tons of heavy military hardware, including China’s ZTZ99 main battle tank.

With a maximum takeoff weight of 220 tons and a wingspan of 45 meters, the Y-20 can reach a speed of 830 km/h.

“The Y-20 entering into service marks a crucial step for the Air Force improving its strategic power projection capability,” said Air Force spokesperson Shen Jinke.
