Russian 102nd military base in Armenia prepares for large-scale exercises

Armed forces intelligence units of the Russian 102nd military base in Armenia started their preparations for large-scale tactical military exercises  to be held in Armenia’s Alagyaz and Kamkhud training complexes in mid-July.

The scenario of the exercises includes transferring paratrooper units behind the enemy lines by Mi-24P attack, and Mi-8MT transport helicopters in extreme conditions on high altitude during both day and night. The flights are to be carried out covertly.

In addition to the Mig-29 fighter jets, infantry, artillery, and tank units of the Russian 102nd military base are to take part. 

The exercises will be led by the commander of the southern military region of the Russian Armed Forces.
