A USAF MQ-9 Reaper UAV crashed in the ISIS-held northern town of Tabqa.

Official USAF sources claimed that the drown was not shot down as a results of enemy fire, but crashed as control over it was lost. According to the same source, the drone has been destroyed by coalition aircraft to avoid falling in the hands of ISIS.

A statement issued by ISIS earlier claimed that the drone was downed.

The MQ-9 is the first hunter-killer UAV designed for long-endurance and high-altitude surveillance.
